Feed In Tariff Program: Ontario Manufacturer key to success in new solar farms

The FIT (Feed In Tariff) Program was enabled by the Green Energy and Green Economy Act, 2009 which was passed into law on May 14, 2009. The Ontario Power Authority is responsible for implementing the program.

Manufactures, installers and suppliers to the Ontario market are scrambling on how best to “FIT’ in to the Ontario landscape.  Many large and medium size projects require ton’s of steel to support the sub-assemblies (support structure) of the solar panel cells.  This heavy systems when shipped in from overseas or the USA add to the overall project costs.  The weight and transportation costs combined with the new requirements from the Ontario Government (Feed-in-tariff program) now place new strains on the solar industry in Ontario.

Samco Machinery has now introduced a fabrication facility to solve these problems.  As a leader in the roll forming industry Samco Machinery has long played an integral part of the building and construction industry.  With strong roots in Ontario it is only natural for this steel forming giant to lead again in the manufacturing of sub-assemblies for the solar industry.
