Unison
Unison (Scarborough, UK) announced the FLEX Flat Bar Former, a machine that offers the production of flat bar, toothed and pocketed flat bar profiles as well as tubular shapes.
Features:
- Ability to precision-form most complex of flat bar designs, including freeform and sculptured shapes in minutes
- Can take CAD model of continuously changing 3D shape with reference surface and decode it so shape can be recreated by continuous 3D roll-forming
- Purpose-developed software that allows flat bar shapes to be calibrated for bend and twist
- 3D file import system contained in Unison’s Opt2Sim tube simulation software suite that enables users to drag and drop STEP files into software application and access bending data instantly
- Opt2Sim Scan portable tube and bar geometry scanning solution that can be specified with FLEX Flat Bar Former
- Incorporates Creaform3D handheld scanner for precise, portable 3D scanning
- Constant reference geometry that ensures accurate results without need of skilled operator
- Scanned dimensions that can be easily compared to master file data, with corrections sent directly to bar bending machine
